About the Practice

Albany Arthritis & Orthopaedic Center was founded under the leadership of Robert S. Pilcher, MD, PhD, an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of arthritis. During Dr. Pilcher's 10 years of caring for patients in the Albany area of Georgia, he has recognized the need for a facility dedicated to the care, treatment, and healing of orthopaedic conditions; a place where patients can receive the individualized attention they need from caring staff trained to deal with orthopaedic problems.

Dr. Swaringen is an orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in sports medicine. She has provided medical care for athletes of all levels including high school, athletes from the Universities of Michigan and Minnesota, and the Minnesota Twins. She is interested in taking care of people with sports-related conditions and injuries of the shoulder and knee.

Our doctors feel it is important for patients and their families to understand as much as possible about their orthopaedic condition, and we will make a special effort to explain everything regarding your problem, medicines, and treatment.
